Frequently Asked Questions
Why does my vagina feel loose?
A loose vagina can result from vaginal childbirth, childbirth injuries, pelvic floor weakness, aging, menopause and changes in vaginal tissue and support. Dr. Bawa evaluates what has changed before creating a customized Bawa Method treatment plan.
Can you tighten a loose vagina without surgery?
Yes. Non-surgical vaginal tightening treatments can address vaginal tissue, pelvic floor strength and other factors contributing to laxity. At Bawa Medical in Boca Raton, Dr. Bawa may combine treatments depending on what is causing the problem.
Does having a lot of sex make your vagina loose?
No. Frequent sex does not permanently stretch the vagina or cause vaginal laxity.
Does having multiple sexual partners make your vagina loose?
No. The number of sexual partners a woman has had does not determine vaginal tightness. Vaginal tightness is not a measure of a woman's sexual history.
Can I have a loose vagina if I have never had children?
Yes. Childbirth is an important cause of vaginal laxity, but it is not the only cause. Aging, menopause, changes in vaginal tissue and pelvic floor weakness can also contribute.
Can I have a loose vagina even if I gave birth by C-section?
Yes. A C-section avoids the stretching that occurs when a baby passes through the vagina, and vaginal laxity is more common after vaginal birth. [2] But pregnancy itself can affect the pelvic floor, and aging, menopause and changes in tissue support can also contribute.
Will my vagina tighten again after childbirth?
Usually, to a significant extent. The vagina and pelvic floor naturally recover after delivery, with much of the recovery occurring during the first several months. [4] However, some women do not return completely to their pre-pregnancy state and may continue to notice looseness, reduced friction or changes in sensation. [5]
How long does vaginal looseness last after giving birth?
Every woman heals differently. The pelvic floor continues to recover for months after childbirth, so feeling looser soon after delivery does not necessarily mean the change is permanent. If vaginal laxity continues after healing, Dr. Bawa can evaluate whether the issue involves vaginal tissue, pelvic floor weakness, childbirth injury or a combination of factors.
Why does my vagina feel loose during sex but not all the time?
Vaginal sensation and tightness can change with position, arousal, pelvic floor muscle activity and the size or firmness of a partner. Some women notice vaginal laxity primarily during penetration rather than during everyday activities.
Do Kegels tighten a loose vagina?
Kegels can strengthen pelvic floor muscles when muscle weakness is part of the problem. But vaginal laxity can also involve stretched tissue, changes in collagen and elasticity, childbirth injury or hormonal changes, so Kegels may not address every cause.
Can a loose vagina make it harder to orgasm?
It can. Less friction and sensation during penetration can make orgasm more difficult or change how intense it feels for some women.
Can my partner tell if my vagina is loose?
Sometimes. A partner may notice a change in friction or sensation during penetration, particularly if vaginal tightness has changed significantly over time.
Can menopause make my vagina feel loose?
Yes. Menopause can affect collagen, elasticity, vaginal tissue and pelvic support. Menopause has been strongly associated with vaginal laxity in clinical research. [3]
How much does vaginal tightening treatment cost?
Cost depends on what is causing the laxity and which treatments are needed. Dr. Bawa may recommend one treatment or a customized combination. Financing and payment options are available so money does not have to prevent you from addressing the problem.
Where can I get non-surgical vaginal tightening in Boca Raton?
Bawa Medical in Boca Raton offers non-surgical treatment for vaginal laxity, pelvic floor weakness and changes related to childbirth, aging and menopause. Dr. Kanwal Bawa uses the Bawa Method to create individualized treatment plans for women from Boca Raton, Palm Beach County and throughout South Florida.
