Healthier Tissue at Every Stage
A woman’s vaginal and vulvar tissue continues to change throughout her life. Pregnancy, postpartum recovery, breastfeeding, perimenopause, menopause, postmenopause, aging, medications, health conditions and cancer treatment can all affect the tissue differently.
BawaRF® is therefore not only for women who have had children, and it is not only for women who are sexually active. For women, BawaRF® may incorporate vaginal radiofrequency alone or vaginal RF together with radiofrequency microneedling.
Vaginal RF delivers controlled thermal energy throughout targeted tissue. Vaginal RF microneedling allows Dr. Bawa to deliver radiofrequency energy at carefully selected depths for a more targeted tissue response.
The words “vaginal microneedling” can understandably sound intimidating. Numbing is always used, and patient comfort is an important part of Dr. Bawa’s protocol. When appropriate, she recommends combining vaginal RF and RF microneedling because they treat the tissue differently and can provide a more comprehensive approach to vaginal rejuvenation.
Tissue Health
Changes in collagen, elastin and circulation can affect tissue thickness, elasticity, firmness and comfort. Research examining vulvovaginal tissue after radiofrequency treatment has demonstrated changes in collagen, elastin and vascularity, providing biologic support for RF-based tissue remodeling. [1]
Dr. Bawa uses BawaRF® to support healthier, stronger and more responsive vaginal and vulvar tissue.
This is not simply vaginal tightening. The goal is improving the health and function of the tissue itself.
Sexual Function
When tissue quality and circulation change, women may notice less sensation, decreased arousal, reduced natural lubrication, discomfort during sex or changes in orgasm. And in some cases, it’s all of the above.
Radiofrequency has increasingly been studied in postmenopausal women with genitourinary syndrome of menopause (GSM) and sexual dysfunction. Recent randomized trials have reported improvements in vaginal health and measures of sexual function following nonablative RF treatment. [3,4]
BawaRF® can be incorporated into a broader treatment plan to improve tissue health, sensation, lubrication, responsiveness and sexual function.
Urinary Wellness
Vaginal health does not matter only during sex.
Changes in intimate tissue frequently occur alongside pelvic-floor and urinary changes. Some women first notice leaking when they cough, laugh, exercise or jump, while others begin changing their routines because they are worried about leakage.
Dr. Bawa evaluates tissue quality and pelvic-floor function together. BawaRF® may be combined with BawaTone® because both tissue health and muscular support need to be addressed.
You should not wait until urinary leakage has become part of everyday life before seeking treatment.
Preservation
You should not wait until sex hurts, sensation has significantly changed or urinary symptoms have progressed before taking care of intimate tissue.
A woman will spend decades of her life in postmenopause. Taking care of vaginal and vulvar tissue is part of taking care of your body. BawaRF® can be used not only to restore what has changed, but also to help preserve healthier tissue and function for the years ahead.
